To try and describe all the beauty we have seen these past five days is truly impossible. Both my husband and I have been awe-struck as we have driven many miles on country roads capturing the most breath-taking scenery. As you drive through the winding roads you see the quintessential farm houses and barns, beautiful cottages, ponds peeking out in between long expansive yards, and fall foliage that literally paints a landscape that will leave you breathless. We stayed on Lake Winnipesaukee (famed from the movie, What About Bob), indulged in delicious seafood, coffees, and chocolates. We visited with so many lovely people in the town, both new and old residents of Wolfeboro.

Did you know that New Hampshire has historically been known for its epic fall season? New Hampshire fall foliage, apple cider donuts, cider mills, and maple syrup are legendary. We went to the magical farm called Parlee Farms which began in 1987. This incredible farm is 93 acres, which has grown from its original 10 acres. It literally has a host of agriculture for everyone. We went apple picking with so many different varieties to choose from. My husband and daughter-in-love picked beautiful flowers from their expansive floral gardens, and we feasted on roasted corn and apple cider donuts. They are also known for a long calendar offering berry picking, cherries, peaches and many other fruits. There is also a huge pumpkin patch and a wonderful petting zoo for the kiddos. We didn’t want to leave. This has actually become an annual tradition for us now when we go up to visit our son’s family.

We have feasted on all things autumn, and we are leaving New Hampshire with hearts full of love after seeing our beloved family. For some reason, this year it seems to be hard to leave. After a very long HOT summer in Dallas, and no rain for nine weeks, this trip was refreshing and soul affirming on so many levels. Never take for granted your family and the beauty all around you courtesy of God! This is a trip that is etched in our hearts forever!
