As we prepare for the annual IDS, International Design Society, DOTY Awards (Designer of the Year), I would be remiss to not share with you my thoughts as we get ready to leave for New York City, this Tuesday, August 1st. This is an annual event we go to each year, all over the country, where we get to see some of our most prestigious friends in the Design Industry from the West Coast to the East Coast including Alaska. We compete with our peers in a wide array of design submissions, but we also have three days in which we get to connect, discuss core practices in our industry, see how this vast array of designers put forth some of the most stunning design jobs in the country., share honestly what is working well for us in our professional lives and hopefully, be humble in what we have experienced success in our craft and lives. We are in a well-rounded group of men and women that take their craft seriously and display enormous creativity, balance, display of fabrics and textures, the master skill of art, woven in the design and rooms that you would be the envy of if you could live in that space!
