Heading Northeast to see the Fam and Fall!

Well, it has been an eventful summer since we had an unexpected medical emergency that sidelined us for about nine weeks.  The LORD was in all the details and has been quite gracious to us, but having to stop traveling was hard on this girl.  We are on our first plane since the first of July heading to visit our son, daughter in love, and precious grandsons, Caleb and Micah, in New Hampshire.  I thought I’d share with you a bit about how this has been such a positive change for them and even us, making our visits so much more intentional and memorable and special.

When Kyle and Mandi shared the idea of moving to New Hampshire, we could not have been more excited.  It was time for these two to travel out of their familiar Texas land to a place that has a true four seasons, including an outdoor display of mother’s natures autumn like we have never experienced in the south.  It was time for their family to enjoy new weather, new scenery, new dialects, lots of fresh seafood, and plentiful views of the East Coast.  Kyle’s move came to him as a Project Engineer for Enel Energy, an Italian based power company, and Mandi invests into her Kinders she has taught since they moved.  It has been a great move for them and we LOVE going up to see their precious family.

They did leave behind their heart-love for all things Texas, which includes their die-hard love for The Houston Astros (who just CLUTCHED their division), for their alma mater Texas A&M (Aggies), and Pappasitos’s Cantina (which, if you don’t know, has the best chips, margaritas and fajita’s in the USA!) Now I want a margarita with salt. 😉🌮

I LOVE FALL! I mean I can’t get enough of all of it.  Why could it not be a month longer?  The smells, the cooler temps (oh thank you, Lord), and the changing colors.  So, what better place than to head up Northeast to see the magnificent display of oranges, yellows, reds and golds in leaf changes, pumpkins, gourdes, and all things fall.  Now, here we are settling in for our first night.  We decided to head to Boston our first night and have a delicious seafood meal. We ordered the best mussels we have ever personally tasted, and rested our heads at the renown AKA Back Bay Hotel to have a full nights rest before we head over to Merrimack, NH. Cannot wait to lay eyes on our family!

This is our busiest time of the year, so I always am grateful that I have a rest to quiet my mind and heart before we high-tail into the next few months.  I hope you join me in this next week with LongDistancewithLinda.com.  Let’s savor this perfect time of the year together!
